Wet Cleaning - now it's about using the right tool

Written by Jason Alexander Read time 5 mins

Dry cleaners and laundries understand the advantages of moving towards Wet Cleaning – a more sustainable, eco-friendly option, that delivers huge savings on capital costs, running costs, administrative time, legislation compliance, and the ability to process both dry cleaning and traditional laundry items.

But, whilst many seek professional advice on the most appropriate system for their business before committing, others take an alternative route which only costs them more money in the long run. Their choice is to implement a glorified washing machine, attempting to carry out Wet Cleaning; as opposed to a dedicated Wet Cleaning machine.

We are on a mission to help those business owners that have impulsively implemented a split system.

Jason Alexander, Managing Director of Wavepoint Group, comments: “Although it may seem that implementing a programmable washing machine to process Wet Cleaning is a good commercial decision, it certainly is not. These types of machines are more expensive to run and many business owners have encountered numerous issues with the Wet Cleaning production and quality side of the machine. We want to help those businesses.”

Jason adds: “By cutting corners and not purchasing a machine designed specifically for Wet Cleaning, business owners may notice a poor finish to the garment and even possibly, damage. Conversely, a dedicated Wet Cleaning machine, which is specifically designed to process Wet Cleaning, offers the operator greater assurance that the garments processed will be cleaned to a higher quality with absolutely no issues at all.”

Jason continues: “As the UK’s largest supplier of Wet Cleaning machinery, we have seen first-hand the issues caused by over-promising salespeople selling the wrong solution, which have led to issues down the line.”

One-stop-shop for your Wet Cleaning needs

We offer an extensive range of Wet Cleaning options, backed up by good-old-fashioned ongoing customer service, professional Wet Cleaning training, continuous supply of detergents, spare parts and machinery support. We even help with legislative compliance, funding applications, and guiding start-ups on finding the right premises for their business, supported with interior design layouts and marketing – all entirely free. This is an exclusive service offering seen across the industry; something that no other supplier can offer, all under one roof.

“Unlike other suppliers who supply the machinery, get their money and then leave the provision of detergents and training to third parties, which splits the supply chain for the end user and thus leading to confusion; this isn’t the best approach and has proven to be flawed” says Jason.

Using the right tool for the job

Electrolux Professional’s Lagoon Advanced Care system – a machine that’s solely dedicated to Wet Cleaning, brought to you by us, can process up to 250 items per day and uses less water and energy than others on the market - making it cheap to run, completely environmentally-friendly, whilst improving the bottom line for dry cleaners and laundries.

Electrolux Professional launched their new-to-market Line 6000 range, which is their most exciting development yet and available to order through us.

The WH6-6 washer can be stacked in series with the TD6-7 Line 6000 dryer, to allow operators to wash and dry 60kg per day from just a 0.4m2 footprint.

With 85% of a commercial washer’s lifecycle cost comprising of utility and running costs, the Line 6000 range has been designed to keep these to a minimum, while maximising sustainability. Its Automatic Savings programme, in the models of 14kg and over, adjusts the volume of water used in line with the weight of the load, while Integrated Savings helps to avoid over and underloading to maximise productivity. The built-in Power Balance extraction sequence translates into real-time unbalance monitoring and G-factor adjustment throughout the extraction sequence for efficient dewatering and low moisture retention.

The new Clarus Vibe control panel is incorporated onto the system, which improves user experience and streamlines programming. The 7” full HD colour interface provides a clear layout for users, without the need for scrolling; while dedicated programmes can be customised by garment or cycle and full management reports can be simply downloaded showing utilisation, running costs and even detailing which departments or clients activity.

Having the most cost-effective, flexible and reliable Wet Cleaning solution on-site is a must for those in the dry cleaning and laundry industry. It will increase revenue, boost quality and enable you to offer value-added services that help set you apart from your competition. Speak to the team today on 020 8579 2661.
